Attic Plus Rebates

Rebates for insulation improvements are available to residential electric customers who may not be eligible for Home Performance rebates. The Attic Plus program offers rebates for attic and duct insulation for eligible customers.

Attic insulation rebate

  • Rebates are available up to $450.
  • Attic space must be less than 900 square feet.
  • Rebate amount is based on the starting R-value of insulation (prior to updates).

Duct insulation rebate

  • Rebates are available up to $300. The maximum incentive is based on a slab home with 100% of the home’s supply and return duct work being distributed in the attic.
  • Rebate is prorated by R-value and the percentage of the home’s total system(s) located outside the building envelope.
  • Insulation R-value of at least R-13 is required to be eligible for incentive. It is strongly suggested that duct insulation equal attic insulation depth.
  • Starting R-value must be R-12 or less to qualify.

  • Attic space must be less than 900 square feet.
  • The home must be at least one year old.
  • Each location is eligible for Attic Plus once every 10 years.
  • Work must be performed by one of our approved contractors.
  • Participation in Attic Plus does not qualify for Home Performance with Energy Star rebates, incentives, assessment incentive or loans.

Rebates from the City of Columbia are offered on a first come, first served basis as funding is available each year.

What is an R-value?

The R-value is a measure of how well insulating material resists the flow of heat. The higher the R-value, the greater the insulation. Installing more insulation in your home increases the R-value and resistance to heat flow.
